How much does a VPS cost in Fremont?
Fremont virtual servers use the same pricing as Boston. Plans start at $20 per month for 1 dedicated vCPU, 4 GB of DDR4 memory, 25 GB of SSD RAID 10 storage and 10 TB of transfer on a 10 Gbps port, running to $150 per month for 64 GB of memory. Billed monthly with no contract.
Are the Fremont packages identical to Boston?
Yes. Same six tiers, same specifications, same prices. The difference is which coast your instance sits on and therefore which users see the lower latency.
Should I pick Fremont or Boston?
Pick the one closer to your users. Fremont serves the Bay Area, the Pacific northwest and Asia-Pacific routes better. Boston gives you MASS-IX peering and the northeast corridor. Many customers run both and split traffic between them.
Can I run Windows?
Windows is available on the VM 16G plan and above. The VM 4G, VM 8G and VM 12G plans are Linux only.
Is high availability offered in Fremont?
Not currently. Our Proxmox and Ceph high availability cluster runs in Boston. If the workload has to survive a host failure automatically, use the Boston HA cloud.
How do I order a Fremont instance?
Contact sales and we will provision it. Fremont instances are not yet in the self-service cart, so there is a short manual step at our end.

Take Boston as your east coast point of presence and Fremont for the west. Tell us how you want the traffic to split and we will size both.
