How much does a VPS cost in Boston?
Axcelx Boston virtual servers start at $20 per month for 1 dedicated vCPU, 4 GB of DDR4 memory, 25 GB of SSD RAID 10 storage and 10 TB of transfer on a 10 Gbps port. Plans run up to $150 per month for 64 GB of memory and 200 GB of storage. All plans are billed monthly with no contract.
Are the CPU cores dedicated or shared?
Dedicated. CPU, memory and bandwidth are allocated to your virtual machine and are not oversold across other customers, which is why performance stays consistent under load.
Can I run Windows on an Axcelx VPS?
Windows is available on the VM 16G plan and above. The VM 4G, VM 8G and VM 12G plans are Linux only.
What control do I get over the virtual machine?
Full root or administrator access, plus a secure control panel that lets you reboot, reinstall the operating system and open a VNC console as though you were sitting in front of the hardware.
Is my data isolated from other customers?
Yes. Each virtual machine is secured at both the host and the disk level so other customers on the same node cannot reach your data.
What happens if the physical host fails?
A standard virtual server stays down until the host recovers. If you need the workload to survive a hardware failure automatically, use our high availability cloud instead, which runs Proxmox with Ceph triple replication and fails over to a healthy node in 60 to 120 seconds.
