Every server lands on a 10 Gbps port with 200 Mbps symmetric included. Burst above that is billed at $0.40 per Mbps on the 95th percentile, so 200 Mbps means a sustained 200 Mbps in both directions rather than a transfer cap you can exhaust. Ask about higher commits.
Add-ons
Scale the build without replacing it.
Every price below is added to the monthly rate of the server you choose, with no setup fee and no change to the contract. Committing bandwidth is cheaper per Mbps than bursting into it.
| Add-on | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Additional 200 Mbps symmetric | $70 per month | Raises the committed rate on the same 10 Gbps port |
| Additional 64 GB ECC memory | $30 per month | Subject to open slots on the build you choose |
| Additional 1x 960 GB SSD | $35 per month | Enterprise Micron, added as a second RAID 1 pair |
| Larger or additional drives | Quoted | SATA SSD or bulk SATA, sized to the chassis |
| Additional IPv4 /29 | $20 per month | 5 usable addresses |
| Additional single IPv4 | $4 per month | One address added to your existing assignment |
| IPv6 /64 | Included | Routed to the server on request |
| Burst above the committed rate | $0.40 per Mbps | Measured on the 95th percentile, charged per Mbps |
Drive upgrades are quoted against the chassis you choose, because the bay count and the controller set the ceiling. Tell us the capacity and the RAID level you want and we will price it before you commit. Memory and storage changes need a short maintenance window and are scheduled with you, while bandwidth commits take effect the same day. Price an upgrade.

Build the server, then send it to us.
Pick a build, tick the add-ons you want, and the estimate updates as you go. We confirm the final figure by email, usually the same business day.
Built to order
We enjoy building servers for customers.
Tell us the workload rather than the part list and we will spec it. Processor family, core count, memory, storage layout, RAID level, port speed and IP allocation are all open.
- Single or dual socket across AMD Ryzen, AMD EPYC and Intel Xeon.
- 16 GB to 512 GB of ECC memory.
- 10 Gbps ports with the committed rate set to whatever you need.
- Additional IPv4 blocks and IPv6 allocated on request.
Adding managed service
Any dedicated server can be managed by our team instead of yours. We handle the parts you would rather not be paged about.
- 24/7 monitoring and proactive maintenance
- Operating system patching and security audits
- Hardware replacement handled on site
- As much or as little as you want to hand over
Straight answers
Boston dedicated server questions.
How much does a dedicated server cost in Boston?
Axcelx Boston dedicated servers start at $145 per month for a quad core Xeon E5-1620 with 16 GB of ECC memory and a 960 GB enterprise SSD. A dual Xeon E5-2695 v3 with 28 cores and 64 GB of memory is $189 per month, and a 16 core Ryzen 9 7950X3D is $225. Every price includes a 10 Gbps port with 200 Mbps symmetric and free out-of-band access.
How is bandwidth measured?
Bandwidth is measured on the 95th percentile, so the 200 Mbps included with every server is a sustained 200 Mbps in both directions rather than a transfer allowance you can exhaust. Short spikes are discarded before billing. Sustained use above 200 Mbps is billed at $0.40 per Mbps, or you can commit another 200 Mbps for $70 per month and pay less per Mbps.
Can I add memory or bandwidth after the server is live?
Yes. Another 64 GB of ECC memory is $30 per month, another 200 Mbps symmetric is $70 per month, and a second mirrored pair of 960 GB enterprise SSD is $35 per month. Larger NVMe, SATA SSD or bulk SATA drives are quoted against the chassis, since the bay count and the controller set the ceiling. Memory and storage upgrades need a short maintenance window, and bandwidth changes take effect the same day.
How quickly is a dedicated server provisioned?
Most builds are online within 24 hours, excluding weekends. The Ryzen 9 7950X3D build takes up to 72 hours because it is assembled to order.
Do I get out-of-band access?
Yes, free on every server. IPMI gives you remote console, power control and the ability to reinstall without opening a ticket. Remote reboot is available on the Xeon builds.
Can I specify a custom configuration?
Yes. We build to order, from a single processor with 16 GB of memory up to dual processors with 512 GB. Port options include 1 Gbps, 1 Gbps unmetered, and bonded 2 Gbps or 10 Gbps. Tell us the workload and we will quote the hardware.
Can Axcelx manage the server for me?
Yes. Managed service covers patching, monitoring, security audits and hardware replacement, and can be added to any dedicated server. See our managed servers page for what is included.
Tell us what the server has to do.
We will spec the hardware around the workload, quote it once, and have it online inside 24 hours on standard builds.
